ANA LUA CAIANO explores the musical fusion of traditional Portuguese music with electronic music. She creates melodies that refer to tradition – using choirs, harmonies and canons – in a perfect union with synthesisers, beat-machines and sounds taken from everyday life. Performing in a “one woman show” format, she is considered a “revelation artist”, having already performed her two EPs – “Cheguei tarde a ontem” and “Se dançar é só depois” – live on dozens of national and international stages, such as the EUROSONIC festival, WOMEX, BIME Bilbao, MIL Lisboa, Fira B!, MUM, Live Europe, Les Trans Musicales, among many others. In 2023 she was one of the nominees for the “Music Moves Europe Awards”, which celebrate the diversity of European music and the emerging artists who represent the “European sound of today and tomorrow”. More recently, she was one of the nominees for ‘revelation of the year’ at the PLAY awards.

The ADUFEIRAS DA CASA DO POVO DO PAUL are a group made up of 20 female members aged between four and sixty who, dressed appropriately, interpret and represent with all their soul “some of the knowledge of our people, of our cultural identity”.

An intangible heritage that they are recovering and increasing through the collection of lengalengas, popular adages, proverbs, prayers, songs from all over the year, which, mixed with the sounds of the adufes, sieves and pebbles, bring us back to a rhythmic game and new musicalities of words in the form of a poetic game. They have already performed on numerous stages in Portugal and Europe.
