“CHÁ DAS CINCO: Peça para quatro amigas mais uma que nunca mais chega” by CORAÇÃO NAS MÃOS^PT

WOOL 2024 comes with many new features, and we’re not just talking about one artistic name or another, but also about artistic disciplines that will enrich our festival.

With the aim of diversifying artistic presentation and creation in public spaces, we’re presenting a contemporary circus show. This proposal is directly connected to a curious fact, which is that the people of Covilhã call themselves ‘chazistas’ or ‘chazeiros’, as a result of Covilhã’s industrial legacy. In this way, we are also pursuing the genesis of WOOL, permanently connecting to local identity through artistic practices.

“CHÁ DAS CINCO (FIVE O’CLOCK TEA): A play for four friends and one more who never arrives”, by the award-winning company Coração nas Mãos, is a trans-generational circus performance that uses any space as a stage, seeking interaction with the audience, expressing itself through circus, dance, music, clown, mime, aerial balances and object manipulation. This is also a creation for five women, as a (sensitive) reflection on time relativity, waiting and the ephemeral. It is also an invitation to the public to be inspired by the simple and the beautiful.
