In this 2024 edition, it will be inevitable to talk about the project that has filled the last six months. WOOL + | Urban Art more accessible is a response to the growing desire of the WOOL | Covilhã Urban Art organisation to extend the unique experience that Urban Art, and in particular the WOOL Route, offers to people with disabilities, deaf people or other specific needs. It is a (accurate) update of one of WOOL’s initial objectives, in which we aimed to ‘occupy’ the streets of our city with art, making it accessible to everyone.
Photographer Miguel Oliveira accompanied the weekly meetings that brought together a group of APPACDM users, a group of art students from Campos Melo Secondary School and visual artist Mantraste, to create the community tile mural that we find today in Rua Rui Faleiro, which is proof of participation and access to cultural enjoyment and creation, but is also a memory and inspiration for building a more inclusive and cohesive territory and community.
If you’re curious to know what this title is all about, we recommend that you join us on June 13 for the opening of this peculiar exhibition!
