Director Vasco Mendes’ talent and unique eye have already led him to film in countries as diverse as Germany, Bulgaria, Colombia, Poland, Malta, the USA, China and the UK. He has already taken part in two European Capitals of Culture and made dozens of music videos for Portuguese bands such as Clã, Capicua and White Haus, among many others. He produces documentaries that record projects where music appears as a unifying element for people of all ages, social backgrounds and religions. And this last statement, in the context of the WOOL + | Urban Art more accessible project, we could easily adopt it by simply changing the artistic discipline, reinforcing that the visual arts also unite people with and without disabilities.
“SUBIMOS JUNT_S?” (in english: “Do we go up together?”), which is the title of the documentary film made by Vasco Mendes over the course of six months of weekly meetings for the communal creation of a tile panel (in which you can read this same question), tells us about the possibility of new dialogues, of more inclusive and cohesive experiences. It undoubtedly reflects the personal growth of all the people who took part in this project, whose clear and broad mission was to raise awareness and transform the community and the territory.
A premiere not to be missed!
