The FUSING Culture Experience emerged in 2013 as the first event that proposed to join in the same space Music, Art, Sport and Gastronomy. It intended to be much more than just a music festival. It was assumed to be a unique experience, which would took advantage and simultaneously contribute to a cultural dynamization of the city of Figueira da Foz.
All the programming areas integrated the most diverse art forms, the various urban tendencies and the multiculturality of genres and styles, through a pertinent cultural, transversal and pedagogical program that allowed us to observe a city flooded by small events, showcookings in the Municipal Market, sports activities on the private beach of the site, exhibitions in a roulote, sound talks, breakdance and scratch workshops, etc.
If in the first edition, WOOL’s work was highlighted by mural painting interventions spread throughout the city, in the 2nd EDITION of Fusing, MISTAKER MAKER’s action was centered in the venue itself, having as its epicenter the creation and programming of the ‘Garagem das Artes’ (translation: Parking of Arts).
The challenge was to transport and present in the same space, a common car park, a set of activities that reflected the base of the festival, the merge of the 4 areas. Thus, during the 3 days of the festival, the public could got in touch with a total of 23 actions that reflected different aesthetics, expressions, dimensions, arts, media, personalities and careers.
