Mediator and co-founder of Parees Fest (ES)
She has extensive experience in the development of Artistic Mediation projects, a methodology that transforms artistic disciplines into communicative tools within community and learning processes. Specialized in the discipline of Community Muralism, her line of action is focused on the development of projects that democratize art, facilitating tools and techniques that bring creativity to profiles of vulnerable groups.
Parees is a contextual mural festival held annually in Oviedo, Asturias, Spain. One of the pillars of the festival is based on the idea that mural art, beyond its aesthetic character, is a strong vehicle for communication. The festival is committed to the production of works that preserve and share stories, cultural practices and traditional knowledge, all at a local level.
The mediation processes are the main tool of the festival and facilitate the integration of each mural with the environment, reflecting the local culture and generating a meaningful dialogue with the community. This results in socially engaged mural creations that address issues relevant to society, encouraging reflection and dialogue. These mediation processes strengthen community ties and promote a sense of belonging.
Parees is not just a mural festival, it is a celebration of culture, community and the transformative potential of urban art.
